Dr. Ira Goodman

Dr. Goodman received his Medical Doctorate from Rush Medical College. He completed his residency in anesthesiology and fellowship in pain medicine at Northwestern University Medical School. At Northwestern he served as an Instructor in Clinical Anesthesia, and as the Director of the Pain Management Center at Columbus Hospital. Dr. Goodman has been selected a Top Doctor in Pain Management in Chicago by Castle Connolly Ltd based on surveys of his peers. He has lectured extensively on pain management to community groups, physicians and medical societies and has traveled the country to teach pain management techniques to other physicians. Dr. Goodman has appeared on television locally and nationally to discuss pain management techniques.

Scott Glaser M.D. DABIPP

Dr. Glaser is a co-founder and President of the Pain Specialists of Greater Chicago and has seen it grow into a preeminent practice in Chicago. He is well respected within the field of interventional pain management and has published, lectured, and taught extensively. He has been elected multiple times by his peers to the national board of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians (ASIPP) by his peers and has held multiple positions in the Illinois Society of Interventional Pain Physicians including President. Dr. Glaser has achieved all of the important certifications in the field of Interventional Pain Management. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Interventional Pain Physicians. This is acknowledged to be the highest level of credentialing for the field of interventional pain management. He is also a Fellow of Interventional Pain Practice, a certification given by the World Institute of Pain and is certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology in pain management. Dr. Glaser serves as an Instructor for ASIPP teaching other physicians minimally invasive spinal procedures on cadavers at nationally recognized ASIPP courses. He also presents continuing medical education lectures at ASIPP meetings. Dr. Glaser’s greatest joy, however, is treating and educating individuals suffering from pain in his busy practice using all the modalities of interventional pain management. Dr. Glaser has articulated a vision for Interventional Pain Management which he practices every day. That vision is for specialists in this field to be the first physicians to treat patients after musculoskeletal injuries during the subacute phase and to manage all of their care. If the patient’s pain does not respond to conservative care, we are equipped with every minimally invasive procedure and treatment algorithms to treat the sources of their pain. Such a paradigm provides earlier relief, better outcomes, reduces ER visits and hospitalizations, and is the most logical and safest treatment in every case.

Dr. Scott McDaniel

Scott McDaniel, M.D., brings an extensive background and excellent training in pain medicine to his patients at Pain Specialists of Greater Chicago. He is particularly interested in multimodal pain management, patient safety, new technologies in neuromodulation, and improving patient access. Dr. McDaniel grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio where he attended Xavier University, graduating summa cum laude. He then attended Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine in Dayton, graduating in 2010, before finishing a residency in anesthesiology at the University of Chicago Medical Center. Dr. McDaniel most recently completed an Interventional Pain Medicine Fellowship at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he served as Chief Fellow. Throughout his education and training Dr. McDaniel devoted his time to many organizations and presented at numerous national anesthesia and pain medicine conferences. Past and present affiliations include the American Society of Anesthesiologists, American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, American Academy of Pain Medicine, American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, American Pain Society, North American Neuromodulation Society, and the Spine Intervention Society.
